*EVANGELIZATION CIVILIZATION*

*"In him was life; and the life was the light of men. And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not. There was a man sent from God, whose name was John. The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all men through him might believe. He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light. That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world."*
✍️ Light is not merely illumination; it is transformation.
When God sends light into a people, He does not only change their spiritual condition, He changes their civilization.
Evangelization and civilization often move together.
Good News and good works travel together.
The light of education, the light of innovation, the light of industry, the light of information and the light of spiritual awakening have historically followed the entrance of the Gospel.
The Gospel does not only save souls; it illuminates societies.
The move of God that transforms a society often follows a predictable pattern:
A Voice creates an Atmosphere.
An Atmosphere sustained becomes a Climate.
A Climate develops into a Stronghold.
A Stronghold shapes Culture.
Culture eventually produces Civilization.
One man hears from God.
Others respond.
A movement begins.
A hub is formed.
A climate is created.
A culture emerges.
A civilization is established.
This is how God transforms nations.
Our anchor Texts, reveals the cause of transformation in our world.
It says in Him(Christ) was life, and that light was the light of men( civilisation and transformation).
It went further to say this is the light that lightens everyone that came into the world.
Every man includes believers and unbelievers. The effects of the gospel is not just for Christians alone, it affects all men positively.
It brings culture that erase demonic practices in the world.
Wherever the Gospel genuinely enters, light enters.
And wherever light enters, civilization follows.
Civilization is a higher, better and more refined way of life.
Civilization may be:
▪ Technological
▪ Cultural
▪ Philosophical
▪ Social
▪ Physical
▪ Spiritual
The Europeans who came to Africa brought the Gospel. Along with it came literacy, education, medicine, organized institutions and new ways of thinking.
The Gospel challenged practices that diminished human dignity and introduced values that elevated life.
For example, in some communities twins were once regarded as evil and were killed. Through the influence of the Gospel and the ministry of missionaries suchAND Mary Slessor, such practices were confronted and abandoned.
Light brought transformation.
At the root of human struggle are five major problems:
(1) Iniquity — Sin
(2) Infirmity — Disease
(3) Poverty — Deprivation and depravity
(4) Mortality — Death
(5) Gravity — The curse and its effects
The Gospel addresses every one of these realities and empowers believers to rise above them.
That is spiritual civilization.
A higher way of living.
A better way of thinking.
A nobler way of relating.
A more enduring way of solving man's problems.
The path to spiritual civilization is simple:
(1) Deliverance
Freedom from the dominion of darkness.
(2) Discipleship
Training in the ways of Christ until His nature becomes your culture.
When you receive Christ, a new nature is implanted in you.
That new nature produces a new life.
That new life creates a new culture.
And that new culture manifests spiritual civilization.
The assignment of the Church is therefore not merely to populate heaven but to bring the light of Christ to every sphere of human existence.
Let us take the Good News together with good works to the ends of the earth.
THINK ABOUT THIS:
The degree of civilization in any life, family or society is determined by the degree of light that is allowed to shine there.
PRAYER POINTS
1. Father, thank You for giving me the Light of Life through Christ Jesus.
2. Lord, let Your light shine in every area of my life and drive out every form of darkness.
3. Father, help me to be a carrier of light and transformation to my generation.
4. Lord, let there be positive cultural shifts in my family, community and nation.
*DECLARATION*
Father, I thank You for giving me the Light of Life.
This light is the light of civilization, refinement and transformation.
As I walk in the light, I grow better and better in every area of my life in Jesus' Name.
I am a carrier of divine light.
I influence my world positively.
Through me, darkness gives way to light, confusion gives way to wisdom and decay gives way to transformation.
Lord, help us to take this light to the ends of the earth and let nations experience the civilization that comes through Christ.
In Jesus' Mighty Name.

*ATTENDING YOUR OWN FUNERAL*

ROM 6:1,11,Ephesians 2:1,5,Col 2:13
*Even when we were dead in sins, hath he quickened us together with Christ...*
*And you being dead in your sins, and the uncircumcision of your flesh....*
*God forbid,How shall we,that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?*
✍️5 years ago,I met these two guys on different occasions.One told me,he has issues with drug abuse right from childhood.The other said he had( note my word 'had'),issues with pornography and masturbation.
The former said ,that he couldn't do without drugs while the later said he is free, after 21 days fasting and praying.
My point is the second guy,said he had an encounter with the same temptation but he was able to overcome because he is now dead to the sin.While the other one is dead in sin,this particular guy is dead to the sin.
If a dead man could attend his own funeral,he would hear a lot things,he would see a lot of things but he can't respond.Our calling is unto both death and life.
Death to sin,life to Righteousness.
In our anchor texts,we see two kinds of the dead
(1) *Those dead in sin* ( addiction or sinful lifestyle) This is the position of every man born into this world.
Dead in inherited sin,dead in his personal sin.
*(2) Those dead to sin*
( Free from sin,the new creatures in Christ)
To attend one's funeral, simply means
(1)you are dead
(2)but still conscious
(3) unresponsive or unyielding to temptation
Unresponsive to certain stimulus, unyielding to temptation.
It means we are dead to lust of the eye,the lust of the flesh and the pride of life. I John 2:15.
Paul says if we are dead to sin,we should stay dead.Not half dead ,half alive.He says further , just like the dead man attending his own funeral is unresponsive to his environment,so should we be.
*How can we live any longer therein to sin?* Rom 6:2
In verse 11,He asked us to consider ourselves truly dead to sin.
Next time ,we are faced with the same TEMPTATION,just keep saying,I am dead to sin,I am alive unto righteousness.I refuse to yield my body to sin.
And of course, look for exit door and run away.
*DECLARATION*
I am dead to sin but alive unto Righteousness.I am quickened by the Holy Spirit.Sin has no dominion over me.
