GOOD TO GO™ DAILY DRILL BY FUNSHO BABS

TWO CONDITIONS FOR HARVEST

//Understanding The Overriding Providence Of God In The Affairs of Life//

⚓ ANCHOR TEXT

Isaiah 1:19–20 (KJV)

"If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land: But if ye refuse and rebel, ye shall be devoured with the sword: for the mouth of the LORD hath spoken it."

✍️ When it became pressing for me to leave Abuja for Ibadan, I finally decided to obey, but I wasn't willing to go.

My decision was driven by the fear of the consequences of disobedience, but inwardly I resisted leaving my comfort zone.

I obeyed, but I wasn't willing—until one day this Scripture became alive to me. God impressed this truth upon my heart:

"If you are going to get anything out of this move, you must be willing and obedient."

To enjoy the fullness of God's purpose wherever He sends you, you must be both willing and obedient.

The goal of discipleship is a life completely submitted to the will of God. The ministry of the Holy Spirit is to bring us to a place of yieldedness, where we not only obey God outwardly but delight in His will inwardly.

In our anchor text, we find God's two conditions for enjoying the good of the land:

1. Willingness

2. Obedience

Isaiah delivered this message to the people of Judah, calling them to genuine repentance. God promised that if they became willing and obedient, they would enjoy the blessings of the land He had given them. But refusal and rebellion would bring judgment.

The principle still applies today. Wherever God places you—whether in a city, a job, a ministry, or an assignment—you will experience His best when you are both willing and obedient.

Willingness is internal; obedience is external.

Willingness is the attitude of the heart; obedience is the action of the hands.

Many people obey reluctantly. Others are willing but never act. God desires both.

A wife may cooperate with her husband without agreeing with him. Likewise, an employee may obey a superior without liking either the person or the instruction.

God wants us not merely to cooperate with Him but also to agree with Him.

*Four Kinds of Believers*

1. Willing but not obedient – "The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak" (Matthew 26:41).

2. Obedient but not willing – Jonah eventually went to Nineveh, but not with a willing heart.

3. Neither willing nor obedient.

4. Both willing and obedient – the believer who enjoys the good of the land.

Paul beautifully describes God's work in us:

Philippians 2:13

"For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure."

Notice the four key words:

✅ God

✅ Works

✅ To will (willingness)

✅ To do (obedience)

The Holy Spirit works within us until brokenness produces yieldedness.

To experience God's best, we must trust His wisdom. He knows what is best because He has prepared the best for us.

As I reflect on Nigeria's present economic realities, I am reminded that elections come and go, but God rules in the affairs of men.

Instead of cursing the government, let us seek God's face, align ourselves with His purposes, and declare that we shall eat the good of the land.

Looking back today, I now clearly understand why God instructed us to move to Ibadan.

Do you know God's will for this season of your life?

Are you willing?

Will you obey?

The hymn writer captured it perfectly:

> Trust and obey,

For there's no other way,

To be happy in Jesus,

But to trust and obey.

An unwilling and disobedient life produces frustration and misery.

Jesus Himself wrestled in Gethsemane until He finally declared,

"Nevertheless, not as I will, but as Thou wilt."

Sometimes, achieving that level of surrender requires prolonged prayer, fasting, and waiting upon God.

What is God asking you to do?

What is He asking you to release?

Trust Him.

It is always in your best interest.

He is still working in us—to will and to do His good pleasure.

DECLARATION

Father, I thank You for this revelation.

Today, I submit myself to the work of the Holy Spirit. Work in me both to will and to do Your good pleasure.

I am willing.

I am obedient.

I am yielded to Your will.

Every circle of frustration ends in my life today.

I shall eat the good of the land, in Jesus' name.

Good morning. ARE WE GOOD TO GO?
