THE HEDGE AND THE EDGE

"Hast not thou made an hedge about him, and about his house, and about all that he hath on every side? Thou hast blessed the work of his hands, and his substance is increased in the land."»

✍️ Welcome to this new season. Get ready to experience the grace of the Hedge and the Edge.

To be blessed is to be empowered to succeed and produce results, while to be cursed is to be empowered to fail or live without lasting results.

These two opposing forces have shaped human history and influenced the destinies of individuals.

However, God's blessing provides two priceless gifts:

▶️ THE HEDGE
▶️ THE EDGE

The Hedge is your perimeter of defense. It is God's boundary of protection, a divine wall of preservation around your life, family, and possessions. Whenever God blesses a person, that individual often becomes a target of satanic attacks and human envy. Therefore, to preserve what God has given, there must be a Hedge.

The Edge, on the other hand, is your comparative advantage. It is the grace that distinguishes you from others—your uniqueness, your excellence, and the divine qualities that make you stand out from the crowd.

In our anchor text, God gave Job both the Hedge and the Edge.

The devil accused God of placing excessive protection around Job. Satan acknowledged that he could not touch Job because of the divine hedge surrounding him. If not for that hedge, the enemy would have destroyed Job's blessings long before.

The devil himself testified to the power of God's covering.

Furthermore, the Bible declares that Job's household was great and that he was the greatest of all the men of the East ( 1:4–5). That was his Edge—his distinction and greatness.

But when the Hedge was temporarily removed, Job lost his Edge among his peers and became a reproach.

Without the Hedge, you cannot sustain the Edge.....

God's blessing does not only make a man outstanding; it also keeps him protected.

I am persuaded to declare to you today that God has given you both the Hedge and the Edge. You are blessed, preserved, and protected. You shall excel in everything you lay your hands upon.

You will not lose your covering. You will not lose your blessings.

And if you have lost either your hedge or your edge, God is restoring both. After his season of testing, Job received restoration in abundance. According to some traditions,it was believed that the trials of job lasted for 50 days.

Biblically, fifty represents Jubilee—release, restoration, and liberty.

Your Jubilee is here.

Your Hedge is returning.

Your Edge is returning.

This is God's word for you today.

My Edge is my blessing.
My Hedge is my covering.

DECLARATIONS

I declare that every attack against my covering and my blessings is repelled in the name of Jesus.

In this season, I enjoy both the Hedge and the Edge.

I am blessed.

I am protected.

I am distinguished.

I excel in all that I do.
