PROGRESSION IN WORSHIP

ANCHOR TEXTS: Hebrews 9:2–3

*«"For there was a tabernacle made; the first, wherein was the candlestick, and the table, and the shewbread; which is called the sanctuary. And after the second veil, the tabernacle which is called the Holiest of all."»*

INTRODUCTION

✍️The ultimate essence of worship is intimacy with God.

True intimacy leaves no room for distance. When two people are intimate, there is no gap, no barrier, and no hidden agenda between them. God is calling us into this depth of fellowship—where we become one with Him, dwell in His secret place, and become custodians of His secrets.

The Tabernacle reveals this progressive journey of worship.

There were three distinct sections:

1. The Outer Court

2. The Holy Place

3. The Holy of Holies

The deeper the priest advanced into the Tabernacle, the greater the manifestation of God's presence. Every step inward meant greater access, greater revelation, and deeper communion.

The same principle can be illustrated by Jesus' teaching on the seed that produced thirtyfold, sixtyfold, and a hundredfold (Mark 4:8). While Jesus was speaking about fruitfulness, it also reminds us that there are dimensions of spiritual experience. God never intended us to remain at the lowest level when greater depths are available.

- Outer Court – a beginning experience.

- Holy Place – a deeper walk.

- Holy of Holies – the fullest experience of God's manifested presence.

Even among His disciples, Jesus revealed progressive levels of intimacy. He ministered to the multitudes, chose the Twelve, often took only eight into more private moments, and repeatedly drew Peter, James, and John into the deepest experiences. They witnessed the raising of Jairus' daughter, the Transfiguration, and accompanied Him further into Gethsemane. Greater intimacy brought greater revelation.

The invitation remains the same today.

Do not settle for the Outer Court when the Holy Place is open. Do not remain in the Holy Place when Christ has opened the way into the Holy of Holies through His finished work.

Press farther.

Stay longer.

Go deeper.

It is in His presence that His glory is fully revealed.

 DECLARATION

Dear Father, I receive the grace to press harder, go farther, and stay longer in Your presence. Draw me beyond casual worship into deep intimacy until I experience the fullness of Your manifested glory. In Jesus' name, Amen.
